Email Tips:

We are seeing the normal increase in E-mail for this time of year. With the antivirus scanning and updates we are also intercepting more viruses than ever. Please make sure you do not open any attachments to E-mail unless you are certain of the identity of the sender. If you have any concerns, please contact us and we can perform a scan to ensure the E-mail does not contain a virus. Floppy disks are also a means of transmitting a virus. If you receive a floppy disk from another entity, it is a good idea to have us scan it before you use it on a DOC workstation. In addition, do not download files from other than trusted sites.

We are also getting our standard virus hoax reports. If you receive a virus alert from someone, please forward it to me or Alice Parker (alice.parker@doc.state.ok.us) to determine the validity of the alert. Following these practices will help us provide reliable network and services support.

Thanks
